March 711 2nd Monaco 1971 #17 Peterson by Tameo Kits
Monte Carlo 1971 was an incredible performance by the
Peterson/March duo. After finishing eighth in qualifying in the race Peterson
turned in one of his best driving performances of his career by going on to
take a fantastic second place ahead of even Jackie Ickx's Ferrari. In that race
53 years ago the world finally discovered the talent of Ronnie Peterson that
only fate, on a Sunday in Monza in 1978, would interrupt but that March with
the "tray" resting on its nose has remained firmly in the memory of
all fans. In fact, the red March Ford 711 strikes the imagination, with its
strange elliptical wing above the low rounded nose, supported solely by a
slender pylon, it looks like the wing of a Spitfire fighter but the British
also give it the nickname "coffee table." It is one of the most
iconic single-seaters in the history of Formula 1 that we finally decided to
produce.
