Mail Order Policy & Guarantee
Placing an order
Placing
an order with us could not be easier! Simply choose which products you’d like,
add them to your shopping basket and then go to the check out. Enter your
customer and delivery details and then you will see an order summary. Have a
careful read through all the details (of products selected as well as your
details) to check everything is correct and then click on the payment button.
Enter your credit/debit card details or select the Paypal option and make the
payment. You will receive an
automated acknowledgement of what is in stock for immediate delivery and what
is out of stock for future delivery. Your credit card will only be charged for
what is actually in stock and ready for despatch. In the case of orders where
all items are out of stock, you will be charged a £1 payment validation deposit
to securely store your details on the Sage Pay system and this deposit will be
deducted from the next invoice. For subsequent orders you will not be charged
another payment validation deposit unless you change your payment details.
If
you prefer you may email your orders to us at mail@grandprixmodels.com including your full name and Grand Prix Models
account number, we will also happily receive orders by fax to +44 (0)1295
278072 and of course you can call us on +44 (0)1295 278070 Monday-Friday from
9-5. Please note that pre-order discounts are only valid for orders placed
directly via the website.
Stock
We
hold significant stock but with around 30,000 items typically available to us,
we can’t keep everything on the shelf! Unlike many stores, we don’t just
sell what we have on the shelf, we will also backorder out of stock items for
you and take pre-orders for those that are to come. In fact, with many model
manufacturers being ever more precise in their production numbers, pre-ordering
is actively encouraged so that you don’t miss out and we offer a 5% discount on
all pre-orders placed through our website. Please note that pre-order discounts are only valid
for orders placed directly via the website.
“In Stock”
In stock items
have a
green icon against them.
This means we
have the item on our shelves and ready to go. You can order it and we will send
it to you.
"Available
to order"
Available to Order items have an
orange icon against them.
This means the
item has been released but is out of stock and available to back-order by
clicking on the button. An estimated delivery time will be shown next to the
item but this is a guide only and it is subject to the manufacturer having
stock and sending it to us. In some cases there may be significant delays.
Due to the
indefinite delivery schedule of back-ordered items we do not take pre-payment
for Available to Order items. You may still order these items by providing
a valid credit card number and details and keep us updated with any changes.
Your credit card account will be charged £1 for validation and the balance
charged when the item is ready for despatch to you. Back ordered items will be
shipped at the price prevailing at the time of shipment.
"Future
Production"
Future Production items have a
blue icon against them.
These are items
that have been announced by the manufacturers but have yet to be put into
production. You may pre-order these items by clicking on the button. Delivery
times may be very long and you will need to understand that they come when they
come. We provide as much schedule information as we can on these but due to the
indefinite delivery schedule of pre-ordered items we do not take pre-payment
for Future Production items. You may still order these items by
providing a valid credit card number and details and keep us updated with any
changes. Your credit card account will be charged £1 for validation and the
balance charged when the item is ready for despatch to you. Pre-ordered items
will be shipped at the price prevailing at the time of shipment.
Cancellations and returns
We accept your
orders for Available to Order and Future Production items
in good faith but manufacturers’ stocks and future plans are beyond our
control. In the event that an item is no longer available we will let you know
that the order has been cancelled as soon as we are informed by the manufacturer.
All items sold
by us are guaranteed to be as advertised and to be satisfactory to you but
occasionally things can go wrong. If any item is not satisfactory, you may
return it to us for exchange, credit or refund. If items are to be returned you
must notify us within 7 working days of receipt. Items may then be returned to
us for up to 30 days after purchase. Return postage will be credited on
faulty/damaged/incorrect items, not on cancelled orders.
If an item has
arrived damaged or incomplete, it may be that we can rectify it for you without
the need for a return, so please contact us first and we will advise. For example,
if it is a kit with missing parts we will obtain these from the manufacturer as
soon as possible on your behalf, simply email/return a copy of the instructions
with the missing or faulty parts marked.
When returning
an item please enclose a letter of explanation. Pack the item carefully. We are
not responsible for damage during the return shipment. Please obtain proof of
postage from your Post Office. We will refund the costs of standard postal
services where applicable. Please DO NOT use services such as Special Delivery,
DHL, UPS etc. if you choose to use one of these other services, only the costs
of standard postal services will be refunded. Postal charges are only
refundable on a defective merchandise return.
If returning an
item from outside of the EU please complete the customs declaration clearly
marking it with “Faulty Goods - Return to Sender” and give a zero value. We
will not pay the customs and duty charges on a returned package.
Payments
Credit Card
payments via Sage Pay
Grand Prix
Models accept most major credit cards and this is the simplest way to pay. We use the largest industry leading
card payment processor, Sage Pay, so that your payment details are guaranteed
secure. Only items in stock are charged at time of order. If items are
back-orders or pre-orders, you will be charged a £1 payment validation deposit
at time of order (to securely store your card details on the Sage Pay server).
The balance will be charged when we have your order here ready to send to you.
Non receipt of payment will result in order cancellation after 14 days. All
charges are made in Pounds Sterling. For subsequent orders you will not be charged another payment validation
deposit unless you change your payment details.
Paypal
payments via Sage Pay
Grand
Prix Models accepts payments by Paypal. Your Paypal account is accessed via the
Sage Pay secure site. Only items in stock are charged at time of order. If
items are back-orders or pre-orders, you will be charged a £1 payment
validation deposit at time of order (to securely store your card details on the
Sage Pay server). We will send a payment request for your action when we have
your order here ready to send to you. Non receipt of payment will result in
order cancellation after 14 days. All charges are made in Pounds Sterling.
Delivery times and postage prices
We aim to dispatch in stock orders received before 12
noon on a working day that same day and those received later the next working
day. This does of course depend on work load and there may be a slight delay at
particularly busy times.
Our standard service UK delivery is Royal Mail 48 (2nd
class as was). Heavy and high value parcels may be sent using Royal Mail Tracked or a courier service. You can also choose to add the Tracked service at the
checkout on any order if you wish for an additional £1.55. Typical delivery time on all services is
2-3 working days. Occasionally there are longer delays due to high volumes of
mail in the system (Christmas for example) but we cannot put in a search until 10
working days have elapsed.
For deliveries outside of the UK our standard service is
Royal Mail airmail small packet which is fast and economic. Delivery is usually
7-10 working days from dispatch date. Occasionally there are longer delays due
to high volumes of mail in the system (Christmas for example) but we cannot put
in a search until 25 working days have elapsed.
For some countries Royal Mail International Tracked/Signed For are our standard service for security reasons. An additional £7.25 will be added to
your delivery charges at checkout if you are in one of the countries affected.
For all other countries you can also choose to add Royal Mail International Tracked/Signed For service at the checkout on any order if you
wish for the additional charge of £7.25.
All items on our website clearly display the postage price. All orders are
subject to a minimum charge and for UK deliveries there is also a maximum postage
charge of £9.50 per delivery for most of the country.
As part of the checkout process detailed postage charges to all destinations are
clearly displayed before payment is requested.
Missing/lost parcels
On
the very rare occasion that an item goes missing, all items sold by us are
guaranteed. Please notify us if an item does not arrive within a reasonable
time of dispatch. We will be able to start a lost package search with the Royal
Mail only after 10 working days of dispatch for UK items and 25 working days
for overseas items. Missing items must be reported within 6 months of dispatch.
We
will re-order the lost items and send them to you as quickly as possible.
Our prices
All prices
listed on grandprixmodels.com are correct at the time of entering the
information and are subject to change without notice. Many of our products are
from small overseas producers and so are subject to fluctuations in exchange
rate at point of import. We will always give you the lowest price possible at
the time your order is shipped. If a price has risen more than 10% from the
date of order we will inform you first and give you the option to cancel.
All charges are
made in Pounds Sterling. All £ prices shown include VAT (UK Sales Tax)
@ 20%, except books which are VAT exempt.
Prices shown
in other currencies (Euro, US Dollar etc) are for guidance only and do not include VAT (UK Sales
Tax). The exact amount you pay in your local currency will depend on your card
issuer’s rate at the time of invoicing. Sales tax/duty per your national rates and any handling fees are your
responsibility to be paid upon import.
Estimated
Prices are based upon information given to us by the manufacturer at the
time of announcement. These prices may vary upon delivery. If a price has risen
more than 10% from the date of order we will inform you first and give you the
option to cancel.
£TBA - this
indicates that at this moment in time we have no price for this item. We will
insert a price as soon as we can. For more information please contact us.
If
an error is discovered in the price of the goods that you have ordered, we will
inform you as soon as possible. We shall be under no obligation to fulfil an
order for a product that was advertised at an incorrect price. In the event
that you order an item and the price published on grandprixmodels.com is
incorrect for any reason, we will email you to inform you that we have not
accepted your order, and that your order has been cancelled. You will be
advised of the correct price of the subject product. You may re-order it if you
wish. If you have already paid for the goods in the circumstances described in
this clause, we shall refund the full amount. Should you choose to re-order at
the correct price, a separate transaction will be posted to your credit card.
Export prices
If you are
having models delivered to an address outside of the UK you do not of course
have to pay the VAT (UK Sales Tax) - please therefore divide the GBP price shown on our listings by 1.2 (£120 ÷ 1.2 = £100 export price). The Euro/US
Dollar prices displayed already have the VAT (UK Sales Tax) deducted. There is
no sales tax (VAT) charged on books, so no deduction for export. Sales tax/duty per your national rates and any handling fees are your
responsibility to be paid upon import.
