Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Le Mans 1976 #77 Elf by Renaissance
These three kits share near identical core parts and Renaissance’s kit is typically well cast with no obvious bubbles, though there’s a bit of flash to clean up. The option is offered for the more experienced modeller to open either or both doors if you so wish and apart from the decoration the differences seem to be limited to additional details such as wheel centres. The first two kits both represent yellow cars entered by the same team in different years and may or may not actually be the same chassis. The 1974 car was tenth overall and second of the Group 4 runners, while 1977 Opal car was twelfth overall and the red car from 1976 was a class winner. It is the 1974 car that is most visually interesting with red and blue stripes very similar to those on Martini cars, but the company’s sponsorship is nowhere in evidence.

About Renaissance
Excellent kits and conversion sets (for plastic) using resin bodies, white metal parts, lots of very fine photo-etching and good decals. Some castings need cleaning. Excellent instructions. Classic subjects (REN43 refs) are relatively simple builds, while the Integral series (RENI) of more modern subjects are a little more complex. Made in France
