Aston Martin DBR9 13th Le Mans 2008 #007/009 Gulf by Renaissance
Two famous names at Le Mans were
united for the 2008 race, Aston Martin
Racing and the Gulf oil company. The
result was a very good looking car and
one which we are sure will be very
popular with kit builders. Unlike the
older subjects, the modern GT cars
from Renaissance are quite complex
builds so there is plenty to get your
teeth into. The bodyshell is cast with
the doors closed but for the more adventurous there are separate doors included
so that one or both can be opened if you wish. Most of the larger ancillary parts
are in resin with a fair amount of photo-etch to finish off the smallest pieces. The
decals are well printed and include both of the factory cars. Windows are printed
flat acetate, though the headlight covers are vac-forms and as is usual now for
Renaissance kits, there is a protective film to remove from these. Take your time
and it should be a fun project.

About Renaissance
Excellent kits and conversion sets (for plastic) using resin bodies, white metal parts, lots of very fine photo-etching and good decals. Some castings need cleaning. Excellent instructions. Classic subjects (REN43 refs) are relatively simple builds, while the Integral series (RENI) of more modern subjects are a little more complex. Made in France
