Renault Master TGV 1983 by Provence Moulage
The shape of the cab doors and windscreen area are the only clues that beneath this rather bizarre coachwork there lies a Renault Master van. Two of these vehicles, styled on the French TGV high speed train, were among the support caravan for the Tour de France cycle race in 1983. The front of the van apes the train very effectively and at the rear there is a covered platform from which merchandise could be distributed. The shape of the van is superbly replicated and the finishes are excellent with neat masking between the bright orange main body colour and the grey roof, which matches the decals on the sides and around the lower edge of that platform. There have been some wonderful promotional vehicles on the Tour over the years and with more and more being modelled, they make a great collecting theme.
