Genie Mk10 Can-Am 1965 #52 Eve & Jones Racing by MEA Kit 43

Genie Mk10 Can-Am 1966 #52, Eve & Jones
Hand built available MEA060M
We generally think of Lola, McLaren, Chaparral and, later, Porsche when talking Can-Am but there were many small teams who took part too. Joe Huffaker built six Genie Mk10 chassis for the new Group 7 regulations in 1965 and some success was enjoyed by a couple of them. This Ford powered subject didn‘t set the timing charts alight but did finish half of the races entered. The kit parts are generally well cast, but you will need to clean the release agent off thoroughly and the panel engraving is very feint. The wheels and tyres are resin and cast as a unit, so careful painting will be needed here and there is a basic engine and transaxle. A small amount of etch adds the finest details and there are brass rods for axles and tubes for the exhaust tailpipes. The hand built model shows that the parts do all go together well and that the clearly printed decals will conform to the flowing curves of the body. The paint finish is realistic rather than a deep gloss and overall it makes for an interesting and attractive addition to any Can-Am collection.

About MEA Kit 43

An interesting range initially specialising in 1:43 motorcycles. The nature of the subjects and the size of many of the parts mean that these are best suited to those with good eyesight! Casting quality is variable and this combined with the size puts them firmly in the 'for the experienced modeller' category. Alongside the bikes are a number of Dakar raid subjects and early Lotus race cars, again offered as kits and hand builts. The SPL series is hand built only and concentrates on very unusual race cars. Build quality is basic, variable and nowhere near the class leaders and usually presented in recycled Spark cases. Very interesting subjects that may otherwise not be modelled and therefore for the hardcore collector. Made in France.

A dedicated team, we provide the personal touch!
