Rover-BRM Le Mans Test 1965 #35 by Bizarre
Following the successful debut of the Rover BRM gas turbine car at Le Mans in 1963, where it finished in a time good enough for seventh overall but was unclassified as it was demonstration run, the car was re-bodied with an attractive coupe body for 1964. At the test weekend it appeared in grey primer and though there were a few minor technical issues it qualified for the race comfortably, only to be damaged in a road accident on the way home when it fell off the trailer. The car made another appearance in 1965 and this time it had been properly painted in BRM green and there had been a few subtle tweaks to the bodywork, most notable being the addition of faired in lights on the front and a rerouting of the gas turbine exhausts. Both models are nicely finished and capture the shape of the car well. Those detail changes are carefully observed and the models will make great additions to the ever growing Le Mans test car collections.
