BMW M1 Gr5 Le Mans 1982 #61 SOS by Spark
The packaging for this white BMW says that it finished eighth at Le Mans but there is a digit missing as it was actually eighteenth, the last car running and the sole BMW to make the flag. Spark has modelled the car with mis-matched wheels front and rear and while most photos in the race show it with traditional BBS rims all round, we have found one showing it exiting the pits wearing five-spokes on the front as seen here. This high angle shot also shows a narrower set of exit vents on the front bonnet than are on the model. Otherwise the shape is pretty good and the decoration has all been carefully placed over an excellent paint finish and is complete.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
