Macchi M52 1927 1:32 by Marsh Models Aerotech

Macchi M52 1927
Having won the Schneider Trophy in 1926, the Italians hosted the race in 1927 with Venice chosen as the venue. Unfortunately it turned out to be a bit of an embarrassment as all three of the new 1000hp Macchi M52s suffered engine failures in the race, although one went on to set a new speed record a few weeks later. The kit parts are well cast, needing just a few small feed tags and a little light flash cleaning off before fitting, although you will need a little filler for final finishing before paint particularly on the fuselage halves. The floats are heavy, solid resin and the mounting frames for them are white metal, so the finished model will have a very stable base, whether mounted on the beaching trolleys or not. Several sheets of etch include the brass surface mount radiators and stainless for the bracing wires and clearly printed decals offer the choice of any of the three aircraft entered for the race.
