McLaren M8D/E Can-Am 1971/72 #8/12/96 by Marsh Models
Hand built available MM258M8 Parsons MM258M12 Bondurant & MM258M96 Durst
Marsh’s excellent M8D/E parts are something of a classic these days, having appeared in many forms over the years. Three very colourful options of privately entered McLarens are offered in this kit, between them representing two chassis. Chuck Parsons drove Tony Dean’s ex-works M8D/4 (renumbered M8E/1) for a few races in 1971, the car wearing a very Penske-esque dark blue and yellow colour scheme. Lothar Motschenbacher took delivery of one of the early Trojan built chassis (80-03), running it in his traditional red and yellow for Bob Bondurant in the early part of 1971 before selling it on to Steve Durst who had it repainted in a very eye-catching multi-shades of blue for the 1972 season. The difference on your builds will simply be down to decoration and the decals for all are clearly printed.

About Marsh Models
Well established maker of high quality 1:43 kits and hand-built models. Kits feature very precisely moulded resin bodies requiring minimal clean up, equally good white metal ancillary parts, very fine photo-etching where necessary, machined wheel rims, bespoke resin tyres and clearly printed decals. Instructions usually a clearly drawn exploded diagram and often include a sample paint chip if the main body colour is an unusual one. Hand-builts beautifully built and detailed, usually from a series of 100 pieces but LE range typically from only 25. Made in England
