Austin FX3 1954 Black/Beige by Ixo
The FX3 was the first post-war taxi built to the Metropolitan Police’s regulations for London Taxis and sixty percent of the production ended up plying trade on the streets of the city. Most of these had an open luggage platform to the left of the driver but for markets outside London a more conventional four door layout was used with this luggage compartment enclosed and that is how the car is modelled. The overall shape of the vehicle looks pretty good and the two-tone paint finish is neatly applied. Interestingly the model is not fitted with the taxi for hire light above the windscreen, but there are the optional roof-mounted direction indicators.
