Chevrolet Corvette C3 1st Road Atlanta 1970 #48 by Arena

Chevrolet Corvette C3 Road Atlanta 1970 #48
Kit available ARE823 Alternative version ARE824M
Here again we have two subjects which could perhaps have been options in one kit? The main body castings and larger parts are identical, as is the decal sheet but there are detail changes to the livery, the most obvious of these being the design of the roll-over bar which can clearly be seen in the photos provided for decoration. Results show that John Greenwood finished second overall and won his class at the 1970 SCCA Road Atlanta races and went one better the following year. Our hand built sample of the 1970 car is very well finished with the decals all neatly snuggled down into panel lines and then lacquered over. The joint of the bracing bar to the main roll-hoop isn’t quite right if we’re being very picky, but overall it is a very attractive model.

About Arena

Accurate, well detailed resin kits with white metal ancillaries and excellent photo-etched details. Instructions sometimes slightly vague but normally adequate. Castings on some subjects can be a little rough but more recent releases have all been excellent. Due to the amount of etch, they can be quite fiddly to build but in experienced hands make excellent miniatures. Hand built models also available to order. Made in Italy.
